Legacy is a Northern California-based tribute band, bringing to life the timeless and iconic music of legendary rock band, Foreigner.
Comprised of veteran musicians and performers, Legacy faithfully recreates the music with a high-energy show that brings back the nostalgia of the 70's and 80's with hits like Jukebox Hero, I Want To Know What Love Is, Cold As Ice, Urgent, and many more. Legacy draws from a catalog of hits spanning nearly two decades of radio dominance. Inspired by Foreigner, a British-American rock band originally formed in New York City in 1976 by veteran British guitarist and songwriter Mick Jones, ex-King Crimson member Ian McDonald, and American vocalist Lou Gramm. Universally recognized as one of the best selling artists of all time, Foreigner has released 14 top-20 hits and has sold more than 80 million records world-wide. Instantly recognizable, Foreigner's music spans generations of fans. Legacy is proud to bring this timeless music to venues throughout Northern California.
Aaron Prien, Vocals
Music has always been apart of Aaron's life. Besides vocals, Aaron is a multi-instrumentalist. He picked up the trumpet at 8 years old, the guitar at 13, and began developing his vocal chops as a member of the school choir. He also plays keyboards. Aaron has performed over the years with several popular bands in and throughout Northern California and has shared the stage with the likes of Papa Roach and rock legend Steven Tyler. Aaron brings his passion, dedication and talent to the challenging role of covering of one of rocks most iconic singers. When not shattering glass with his amazing G5 tenor range, Aaron is a surveyor by trade.
Gary Weldon, Guitar
Picking up the guitar as a youngster, Gary spent his teenage years locked away in his room moving the needle back on the record player learning from his hereos like Randy Rhoads, Roy Nichols, Al DiMeola, George Benson, Jason Becker and many others. He has covered multiple genres in groups traveling the western states and abroad. Bringing the timeless music of Foreigner to life for generations both old and new is something he truly enjoys. When not taming Marshalls, he loves to indulge in various creative endeavors including art, media, writing and design. An IT geek by trade, he maintains data networks by day. He also loves to peruse flea markets, estate sales and 2nd-hand stores in search of vintage guitar equipment.
Brian Braden, Guitar
Playing the guitar since his early teens, Brian studied with Bay Area rock guitar virtuoso Steve Mcknight (Cry Wolf), who inspired him to practice the craft and subsequently perform with several bands in the So. Cal scene while attending college. As an Executive with Starbucks in Seattle, he formed the hard rock cover band Metallibuxx and made the finals of the Fortune Corporate Battle of the Bands, playing a showcase at the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. After relocating to Northern California he played with the funk/rock Grove Valve Orchestra (Clif Bar Band) across Northern California and studied vocal harmony with the David Victor (ex Boston Lead Vocalist). By day he is Chief Growth Officer for an Organic Food Company.
Greg Chance, Keyboards
Anyone who knows Foreigner's music catalog knows how instrumental it was in defining the 80's rock power ballad. No easy task, considering much of Foreigner's material, especially later material, is steeped in multiple layers of piano and synth. Not a task for the faint of heart, and Legacy simply could not exist without his incredible passion and commitment as a musician. When not creating the epic swells and synth melodies that are iconic to the music of Foreigner, Greg enjoys prog rock and 80's synth pop. He is also a walking encyclopedia of musical history and trivia and a master of the smoker! Greg's love for Foreigner goes back to his childhood, when a K-Tel album introduced him to "Feels Like The First Time" and subsequently made him a lifelong fan. After many years and musical excursions, including other tribute acts, the stars aligned when Greg joined forces with the other members of the band to bring Foreigner's music to life.
Robert Sedano, Drums
Holding down a rhythm section from the era of arena rock requires a combination of focus, energy and powerful chops. Legacy's own percussion maestro provides the backbone on which the driving melodies of Foreigner are built. Robert spent several years in the San Diego area as the drummer for a Rush tribute act, covering the beats of one the world's most renowned drummers; Neil Peart. Early on in the project, when the call went out for a drummer to cover the music of Foreigner, Robert was quick to enthusiastically answer that call, helping create the sonic ambience that became the foundation of the group. When not pounding the skins, Robert enjoys horror movies, collecting horror memorabilia, and playing with his many pups.
Chad Wilmoth, Bass
The other half of the rythym section, Chad holds it down with an arsenal of chops backed by years of experience in several genres, playing for artists like Nashville up-and-comer McKenna Faith. When not slapping the heavy gauges, Chad moonlights as a balloon animal artist on Pier 39, where he was once arrested for creating an elephant with an extra appendage for a small orphan boy. He also enjoys doing aerobics while wearing an authentic sumo mawashi, and once created a portrait of Elvis using nothing but peanut butter and Nutella.
